The Open Innovation Prompt Cards, Trend Cards and Scenario Boards are intended to provoke speculative futures thinking about the role of open innovation for the cultural and creative industries. Based on ekip’s desk research and consultation with creative industries practitioners, sector leaders, and policy practitioners, these cards represent core concepts across open innovation for the cultural and creative industries and key sector trends impacting the CCIs. They are not exhaustive but intended to prime the pump for discussion: participants can add additional cards and trends as necessary to support an open, creative dialogue. The boards act as structured-thinking artefacts to assist participants to think through their discussions in a visual way, encouraging participants to consider what priorities, trends and concepts are important now and how the landscape might change through time.
The cards and boards can be used in workshops, strategy sessions or collaborative projects to explore how institutional, regulatory and cultural contexts influence innovation processes as well as to imagine pathways towards more open, adaptive and supportive innovation ecosystems.
